Ombre Brows Microblading in the Jacksonville, NC area.

Ombre Brows

Ombre Brows, also known as Powder Brows, are a form of permanent makeup. These picture perfect brows are achieved by a tattooing method called microshading. Microshading, is completed using a mechanical needle. Not to worry! Microshading is only completed once the skin is sanitized and numbed with an anesthetic cream. Pain levels vary from zero to tolerable. The results last between 1 to 3 years and offer the perfect makeup-look brows.

The Benefits

Always wake up with the perfect pair of brows that compliment your face.

Never have to worry about putting makeup on your brows every day! These babies last 1 to 3 years before a touch is needed.

Is it painful?

Usually the first thing everyone wants to know is whether this hurts and if so, how painful is it? Pain ranges from zero to a very slight uncomfortable feeling.

Anesthetics work better on some than others. The overall sensation is like your eyebrows are being brushed. This may vary according to an individual's pain threshold. Many clients do fall asleep during the procedure.

Is it safe?

It is very safe, as it uses only vegetable dye which is natural and organic. All instruments that enter the skin or come in contact with the body fluids are sealed and sterilized before use and disposed of after use. Cross contamination guidelines are strictly adhered to.

Is it for anyone?

No, it is not for everyone. Here is a list of things will disqualify you from getting the ombre or hybrid brow procedure:

  • Pregnant, nursing and anyone under the age of 18 will not be considered for tattooing. Identification will be checked and documented prior to all procedures for age verification purposes.
  • Anyone who has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
  • Anyone taking steroid medication and/or Prednisone (must be off for at least 2 months).
  • Anyone with an open wound in the brow area.
  • Severely wrinkled, thin, or aged skin.
  • Anyone with a bacterial or viral infection on the face.
  • Insulin dependent and individuals on blood thinners are not good candidates for permanent makeup and take on full liability by choosing to book with Genesis Lash & Brow.
  • People with very oily skin may not be good candidates for some procedures, as they may not do well with pigment retention.

If any of these apply to you, please contact me prior to booking an appointment.

Do I need my doctors approval?

In some cases, a doctors approval and note, must be provided to receive the ombre or hybrid brow procedure.

Here is a list of things that will automatically require you to provide a doctor's note of approval:

  • Diabetics under doctor's care
  • In remission from cancer for 1 year or less
  • Having high blood pressure
  • Using prescription blood thinners (must be off for at least 1 month).
  • Having seborheic dermatitis

What colors are available?

A wide range of colors are available to compliment your skin tone and hair color. Pigment matching will take place prior to beginning the procedure.

How long does it last?

Up to 30% of initial pigment deposited into the skin will fade during healing. A complimentary 6 week touch up appointment is included with all inital brow appointments. (Does not apply to refill appointments).

Permanent cosmetics also do fade over time. All color fades and your cosmetic tattoo will require maintenance every 1 to 3 years. The amount of fading depends on several variables including medications you are on and topical treatments.

Sun (UV) exposure is a primary cause for fading. Proper sun protective measures should be taken to protect your permanent cosmetics from the sun, tanning beds, etc. All procedures are done with one of the best pigment lines in the world.
